On 1 May, Lucy and Ellie represented the South of England as members of the Team entered in the Inter-Regional Championships. This national event is only open to gymnasts who have pre-qualified by finishing 2nd or 3rd in their Regions Prelims and as such, is a highly competitive competiion attracting some of the best gymnasts in the country, including those from Scotland and Wales as well as the English regions.
Competing two routines over the course of the day, the girls performed each one beautifully, achieving some of the highest technical and artistry marks of the whole competiton and justifiably earning them the Gold Medal and the title of Inter Regional Champions (Grade 5 Womens Pair).
The girls high scoring performance also helped the Southern Region to take second place in the team event, just missing out on the gold by the smallest of margins.
