The World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships 2010

"Emotion, Honour and Sacrifice"

In March 2010 the 11-16 AG Trio of Becca, Fran and Freya became British champions. They took part in the the selection event for the World Championships, were placed 1st and selected to represent Great Britain in Poland in July. Tragically, with just 6 weeks to go, Becca was forced to withdraw due to an elbow injury and exceptionally, was replaced by another gymnast, Becky. After another trial, the 'new' Trio was re-selected to represent GB and against all the odds, went on to win the Silver medal. Their journey to 'The Worlds' was extra-ordinarliy difficult for the 4 girls, all close friends, who were thrown into a whilrwind of emotion, honour and sacrifice. The fact that they achieved so much under so much pressure and emotion was a credit to them all. This is their story.
